A woman has been injured after a pedestrian collision in Fall River Friday night.

According to Deputy Chief Barden Castro, at approximately 9:05 p.m. Fall River Police responded to the 200 block of President Avenue for reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary information indicates that a 62-year-old female pedestrian was attempting to cross President Avenue when she was struck by a motor vehicle.  The operator, as well as witnesses, remained on scene and are speaking with investigators.

The pedestrian has been transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital with what are being described as serious injuries.

This is still an active investigation.  Detectives as well as Accident Reconstruction Specialists are on-scene.

Castro asks that people please avoid the area.

Everytime I go out I am dodging accidents on almost every street. I hate to drive now. I’ve been in 3 accidents on Bay street in 2 yr, No one follows the rules anymore.
I hope the person in this accident has a good recovery.

3 accidents? you trying to act and say it’s other people’s fault but the common denominator is you I think you’re the one that needs to learn how to drive especially when you’re saying you have to avoid an accident on every street when you go out

            Dear See It All,
Really ??…At 62, she has every right to be out as late as she wants…just like you !! Please stop maling moronic statements !!
If people got off their phones, obeyed the speed limit, and drove safely, these accidents would subside !!

1st, thing is that every state goes through the same situation and with all these accidents of people getting killed. Why is that the DRIVING AGE, don’t get changed and at 60, I got my license at 16. These young kids that have there license at 16 or 17, drive so erratically with their friends and showing off. You go to driving school but they probably teach the same thing that we were taught. Now a days it’s in 1 ear and the other. All about making money!! It’s gotta stop, if they changed drinking age with no problem why can’t change the age of DRIVING. The Commonwealth needs to stop gouging on a lot of the wrong stuff and look if there child was in a horrific situation WAKE UP MASSACHUSETTS SENATE
My condolences go out to the young woman’s family and prayers 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I would think the mayor might have used ARPA money to hire more police officers and perhaps a vehicle or two instead of approximately $750,000 dollars for yet another “tourism study” when UMASSDartmouth completed one just last year with professional sueveyors! I really think we need an audit of every penny of ARFA money that came into the city and see just who got what contracts, etc!!!

Stop blaming the mayor it’s not his fault he has to follow the narrative, of the Democrats he’s only doing what he’s told to do

If you really believe that, it’s time to start voting for republican ticket. Elected officials are supposed
to do what the electorate want, not what their party tells them.

I drive only in the city and in my area all i can experience is people going through stop signs, speeding and not caring about anyone but themselves it’s like there the only ones on the road maybe we should put speed bumps on the city streets????
