Fall River man air lifted after falling from roof
RAYNHAM — Police Chief James Donovan and Fire Chief James Januse report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to a home where a man was injured after falling from a roof Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., rescuers responded to a home on Plentywood Lane for a report of a man who had fallen from a roof.
Upon arrival, first responders observed a Fall River man, believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s, on the ground next to the house with injuries to his lower extremities.
An initial investigation indicates that the man was painting the two-and-a-half story home when he fell approximately 25 feet to the ground.
The man suffered injuries that are serious but are not believed to be life-threatening. He was transported by ambulance to Raynham Park where he was then airlifted by medical helicopter to a Rhode Island hospital.
The incident is believed to be accidental.
