Westport Police arrest man accused of entering someone else’s home after car crash
A local man is facing several charges after an incident this past weekend.
According to Detective Sergeant Bryan McCarthy, early Sunday morning at 1:00 AM, Westport Police responded to a residence on Horseneck Road to investigate a report of an unknown male who had entered a home through an unlocked door and was in the homeowner’s bedroom holding a bottle of Vodka. The homeowner was able to get the male out of her house and waited for police to arrive.
While responding, officers discovered a single vehicle crash that had just occurred in the area of the residence. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and debris was scattered across the roadway. Officers observed the operator to fit the description of the unknown male reported to be in the home.
Police investigated the crash and the initial call for service and placed Logan McNamara of Central Falls, Rhode Island under arrest for Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, Operating Under the Influence of Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Marked Lanes Violation.

Not an excuse. You don’t go onto people’s property or enter people’s homes, whether locked or not.

He is a known recidivist. This is not his first drunk driving incident, he almost hit a police officer the last time. He is able to do these things and get away with it because he related to a high-profile figure in RI.
