Community raises over $60,000 for family after Bristol County woman dies while giving birth
The community has come together to help a local family after tragedy struck earlier this month.
According to friends and an obituary, on the morning of December 5th, 40-year-old Laura Hill passed away suddenly during childbirth in Raynham. Newborn, Liana, survived.
A GoFundMe fundraiser states that Laura was full of life and love. Her partner, Shane, and her boys Luciano (4) and Nico (3) were her whole world.
“She wanted nothing more than a simple life for them full of love and peace. Her baby girl joined this world when she tragically left us. We can’t make sense of something so devastating but want to support and help Shane and their children any way we can.”
According to an obituary, Laura’s bright smile and laugh were infectious and those who were close were very important to her.
“She filled our souls with love daily. She valued family and friendship, always taking the time to stay connected with everyone who loved her. Laura was a true friend and remarkable hostess, always warming your heart with sincere questions as she caught up with you over a delicious spread. So many of us lost a best friend.”
The fundraiser has raised over $60,000 as of this writing.
A celebration of life for Hill was held late last week.
