With 850 Fall River units approved in September, 350 apartment units proposed for plaza near waterfront

Another large number of residential apartments could be headed to Fall River.

1265 MAIN STREET LLC, care of Atty. Peter A. Saulino, seeks a Variance at the City of Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals on November 16th to demolish the existing strip mall at 101 President Avenue.

The plan is to rebuild a mixed-use concept on the site, consisting of 350 residential apartment units, a parking garage, and retail space.

The petition is looking to wave side yard setback, building height, type of use, and unit count in a B-L (Local Business) Zoning District and an HD-1 (Housing Development) Overlay District.

The applicant also seeks a Special Permit to reduce parking requirements.

The proposal comes on the heels of over 850 units getting Zoning Board approval for variances and special permits in September.

It is currently unclear what the future holds for the current tenants of the complex which houses a senior center, retail, and several eateries including Almac’s Diner.

A typical move by douche bag, politicians. Let’s remove infrastructure to accommodate the rich and powerful to build on the lands that were supposedly to be available to the citizens. I can only imagine how many millions of dollars they’ll be racking in over the years. I wonder how much it cost them in payoffs to make it happen?? Disgusting!
