According to Massachusetts State Police, just before 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Troopers from State Police-Concord Barracks responded to a crash involving a 2010 Dodge SUV and a 2021 Mazda CX-5 on Route 2 eastbound in Littleton. The crash resulted in fatal injuries to the operator of the Mazda, and serious injuries to the operator of the Dodge.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the Dodge, a 22-year-old Leominster woman, entered Route 2 eastbound traveling in the wrong direction. Guruprasad worked as an engineer at Bristol Myers Squibb in Devens and had ties to New Jersey and Texas in addition to Massachusetts.

The investigation into the crash is being conducted by the State Police-Concord Barracks, and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. Troopers were assisted on scene by MassDOT and Littleton Fire and EMS. Both lanes of route 2 eastbound were closed for a time while the investigation and clearing of the crash was undertaken.

The driver of the Dodge will appear at Concord District court at a later date to face charges of Negligent Operation Of A Motor Vehicle, Reckless Operation Of A Motor Vehicle, and Wrong Way Violation. Her name was not released.
