Child reportedly attacked by pitbull in Fall River
Fall River police and two rescues are on the scene of an incident involving a dog and a child.
According to scanner transmissions, a pit bull bit a child in the area of Mount Hope and Bay Street in Fall River at approximately 8:15 p.m.
The child has reportedly suffered severe facial injuries and possibly other injuries and was transported to the hospital.
Fall River police shot the dog multiple times killing the dog.
According to someone familiar with the dog, the pit bull had never previously done something like this before that they know of and must have snapped.
According to a witness, a woman was also bitten.
