According to Fire Chief Roger St. Martin, a call came in at approximately 8:00 a.m. for an explosion at Lafayette Place on Lafayette Drive.
St. Martin stated that the explosion created a small fire and blew one interior wall out and also cracked ceilings and walls.
Fall River Fire Department investigators and the state arson bomb squad responded to the scene.
While the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation, St. Martin stated that it did not involve malicious intent and was not related to natural gas.
