Fall River Police Department looking for a few good men and women to take part in Volunteer Service Unit
The Fall River Police Department is looking for a few good men and women to take part in their Volunteer Service Unit.
The Volunteer Service Unit is a group of civilian volunteers that assist the Fall River Police Department with City events such as traffic and pedestrian control for the numerous parades, processions and community events that happen throughout the year. They also assist the Fall River Police Department in times of emergencies and natural disasters, along with assisting with searches for missing persons.
Volunteers are trained and certified in Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), rules and regulations, standard operating policies and procedures, First Responder first aid, patrol procedures, police vehicle operation, radio communications and traffic control.
The Fall River Police Department is actively recruiting and accepting applications for the Volunteer Services Unit. Eligibility requirements are U.S.A. citizens aged 18+, no criminal felony record, current Massachusetts driver’s license, excellent health and physical fitness, good moral character, successfully complete a thorough background investigation and interview board. Weekend availability is imperative.

Oh, the Auxiliary Police is what you are looking for. Thought the city defunded them; hence the volunteering? I thought the auxiliary police were volunteers. Why don’t you ask those great people back since you rid the dept of them?
