Several crews respond to five-vehicle crash with multiple injuries on Braga Bridge that shut down highway
Fall River/Somerset, MA – Several crews =responded after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 195.
According to Massachusetts State Trooper James DeAngelis, all lanes of Route 195 westbound were closed on the Charles Braga Bridge in Fall River due to a multi car accident with injury on Monday.
State Police Dartmouth cruisers were on scene for some time for the crash that took place just after 7:30 p.m.
According to scanner transmissions, rescue crews from Fall River, Somerset and Swansea assisted with multiple injured parties.
Several vehicles had air bag deployment and at least one vehicle needed extrication.
The Bridge has since reopened.
Fall River Reporter contacted Massachusetts State Police on Tuesday for an update on the accident. DeAngelis stated that five cars total were involved in the crash with multiple transports to area hospitals. No charges are being issued at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
According to DeAngelis, the accident report is not yet completed leaving exact totals of transports, ages/hometowns, or make/model of vehicles involved unavailable.
