A Massachusetts man that was restoring power due to a storm out of state has died.
The Vermont State Police is investigating the death of a Green Mountain Power employee at a job site in Halifax. First responders were notified at about 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, that Lukas E. Donahue, 41, of Colrain, Massachusetts, had been seriously injured while working on restoring electric service following an outage caused by trees resting on power lines on Reed Hill Road. “We want to thank the community for the outpouring of support for Luke, his family, and his GMP teammates. The loss is unimaginable. Luke brought positivity and a lighthearted attitude wherever he went. We are holding Luke and all of his loved ones in our hearts.”
A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created for Donahue’s wife and two children and has raised $94,000 as of this writing.
