Comcast announces nationwide cost increases beginning next month
BOSTON/TAUNTON – Comcast prices are about to go up again nationwide.
The TV, video, and internet company has begun notifying communities that customer costs will increase beginning in December. Comcast made a similar announcement a year ago.
As an example, the City of Taunton was sent a letter, according to TV Answer Man Phillip Swann, that the fee Comcast charges to bring local stations to customers, will jump from $18.65 a month to $26. Internet and video plans are also expected to increase several dollars a month.
A Comcast spokesperson released the following statement:
“TV networks and other video programmers continue to raise their prices, with broadcast television and sports being the biggest drivers of increases in customers’ bills. We’re continuing to work hard to manage these costs for our customers while investing in our broadband network to provide the best, most reliable Internet service in the country and to give our customers more low-cost choices in video and connectivity so they can find a package that fits their lifestyle and budget. Our national average increase of 3.8% is about half of the most recent rate of inflation.”
The yearly rise in costs for the services has caused some to unplug. The current worldwide inflation may cause even more customers to cut the cord.

Every year that’s our Christmas gift from Comcast. In my area that company is the only that it’s working, because it’s a building complex and the administration doesn’t accept others companies.
