Rhode Island State Police arrest man in murder of 65-year-old woman
Colonel Darnell S. Weaver, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, today announced an arrest in the investigation at 561 South County Trail, Exeter, Rhode Island.
60-year-old Ramsundar Ramkalawan, of 561 South County Trail, Exeter, RI was arrested and charged with Murder.
On Monday, just after 10:00 a.m., the Rhode Island State Police received a 911 call of an unresponsive female at the apartment located at 561 South County Trail in Exeter. Troopers and Exeter Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on scene and determined the female was deceased and the death was deemed suspicious. The Rhode Island State Police Detective Bureau responded and investigated.
The victim is identified as 65-year-old Donna MacDonald of 561 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
Ramsundar Ramkalawan was held overnight at State Police Headquarters and will be arraigned later this morning at the Washington County Courthouse, located at 4800 Tower Hill Road, Wakefield, RI.
