Fall River’s Kaline Medeiros successful in homecoming bout
Kaline Medeiros’ homecoming fight at Twin River Casino Friday night was a successful one.
Kaline Medeiros’ homecoming fight at Twin River Casino Friday night was a successful one.
Medeiros won by decision over Jenna Serio on all three score cards 30-27, but it didn’t even seem that close. Medeiros controlled the three round fight throughout with many take downs and jabs. The stiff competition Medeiros has faced in the past was clearly a factor in the bout as she looked confident and relaxed throughout all three rounds. Serio connected at times, but it never seemed to faze “the dark angel” in this strawweight contest. This was Medeiros’ 9th win and Fall River Reporter asked her about the fight. ” It was a really good fight and a skilled opponent. Everything she brought to me I was expecting. Nothing surprised me.
I knew I would dominate the fight.”
There was also two championship bouts on the CES MMA 49 card.
The main event featured Chris Curtis retaining his CES MMA World Welterweight Title with a 50-44, 49-45, 48-46, unanimous decision win over Jason Norwood.
Nate Andrews defeated Chris Padilla by rear-naked choke in the second round to capture the vacant CES MMA World Lightweight Title.
