Officials release name of Dartmouth man killed after getting trapped under machinery
An 80-year-old Dartmouth man died Friday afternoon on his property after getting trapped under a Mustang Skid Steer.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the deceased has been identified as Leslie Dewars.
The victim’s wife called 911 Friday afternoon after finding her husband unresponsive under the machine.
The skid steer was moved off the victim by Dartmouth Fire Department officials. Dewars was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident at 3:40 p.m.
Miliote stated that it appears the victim was making repairs to the machine and was jacking the item off the ground. The apparatus appears to have slid off a small piece of wood which was placed under the right front block and came to rest on top of the victim.
No foul play is suspected.
