Chipotle Mexican Grill sets opening date for Fall River location
A national restaurant chain took the next step to open a new location in Fall River and they are scheduled to be open soon.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, who currently has area locations in North Dartmouth, Raynham, and Seekonk, was in front of the Fall River Licensing Board on September 15th, represented by the general manager of the future location, Samantha Benevides, for a Common Victualler License to be able to operate the soon-to-be eatery.
Chipotle made the first move back in May when they submitted a site plan to the City Planner which was approved.
The restaurant specializes in burritos and tacos that are made to order right in front of the customer.
The restaurant chain will be located at 575 Newton Street in a new 2,300 square foot building in the area of the Fall River Plaza that currently holds ALDI and Ocean State Job Lot on William S. Canning Blvd.
In addition to dining, the eatery would also have a drive through.
Benevides stated that the current opening date is December 15th of this year.
The hours of operation will be 10:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 7 days a week.
Chipotle was granted the license pending building inspection.
