Westport woman arrested, Fall River detectives injured in crash
According to Fall River police, at approximately 9:30 a.m. this morning, three Fall River Police Detectives were travelling south on Plymouth Avenue near the intersection of Rodman Street.
A brown Dodge Pickup Truck operated by Colleen Furtado, 60, of Westport, MA was travelling north on Plymouth Avenue and crossed the median which caused her to strike an unmarked Chevrolet Impala police vehicle containing the Detectives. Furtado was transported to an area hospital for non life threatening injuries. The Detectives also were transported and treated for non life threatening injuries.
Furtado was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Drugs and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
