Man killed in Route 95 crash after vehicle submerged in river
A man has lost his life after a serious crash Tuesday.
According to Rhode Island State Police, at approximately 5:30 this morning, troopers form the Lincoln Woods Barracks, as well as members of the Warwick Police and Fire Departments, responded to a crash involving one vehicle on Route 95 South.
The subsequent investigation revealed that a Nissan Maxima, operated by Edouard Myto, age 45, of Warwick, was traveling on Route 95 South in the City of Warwick. At a point approximately five hundred feet north of Exit 13 (Airport Connector), the vehicle veered right, traveled across the breakdown lane and left the roadway. The Nissan then entered the wood line and became submerged in the Pawtuxet River.
Divers from the Warwick Fire Department located the vehicle and were able to extricate Myto.
He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Warwick Rescue and pronounced deceased a short time later.
