Massachusetts men arrested for allegedly shooting paintballs at disabled, elderly woman
Two men have been arrested concerning shooting people with paintballs, one of whom was an elderly, disabled woman.
According to Worcester Police, on April 14th 2021 at about 1:15 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 831 Main St for a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an elderly female with a walker had been shot in the face by someone wielding a paintball gun. Officers observed that her glasses had been knocked off her face, which was covered with yellow paint. She was treated by ambulance and did not suffer serious injuries.
Officers were then dispatched to Queen Street, where they met a second male victim who reported being shot by a paintball gun as a blue vehicle drove by him at a high rate of speed. Officers obtained vehicle information and issued a BOLO for a blue Ford F150. The second victim did not suffer serious injuries, but had visible bleeding and welts.
A Worcester Police sergeant heard the BOLO, and observed the vehicle traveling on Lincoln Street near the intersection of Goldthwaite Road. The sergeant activated his blue lights and stopped the vehicle. Officers arrived, observed a black paintball gun in the rear of the vehicle, and removed the two occupants. As they were speaking with the occupants, a third victim came up and reported that the men had just shot paintballs at him on Lincoln Street.
Police stated that the operator of the vehicle was identified as 21-year-old Sean Pinkham, of Douglas. Pinkham did not have a license to operate a motor vehicle and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Paintball), Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Disabled Victim, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The passenger, John Slater, 18, of Belmont Street, Worcester, is charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Paintball) and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Disabled Victim.
They will both be arraigned in court.
