Victim has vehicle stolen in Fall River while getting a jump
A victim had his vehicle stolen this past weekend in a way you may not expect.
A call came into dispatch at approximately 6:05 p.m. on Saturday in the area of 652 Bedford Street. It was stated that an operator of a stolen white van attempted to run the victim over with it.
According to Captain Jay Huard, the incident involved the victim jumping his van with another auto.
Huard stated that the man got the vehicle running and the suspect entered the van and stole it.
The van was allegedly backed up by the thief during the process of stealing it and the victim gave a brief chase on foot to no avail.
The van was later found by Massachusetts State Police with the suspect not inside.
