Fall River, New Bedford, Massachusetts State Police with Gang Task Force, arrest man on drug and firearm charges
A local man was arrested this week on multiple gun and drug charges.
According to Fall River Police Captain Jay Huard, on Monday, members of the Fall River Vice/Gang Unit, Fall River Major Crimes Division, Metro Boston Gang Task Force, Mass State Police, and the New Bedford Police Department executed a search warrant at two apartments at a Phillips Road address in New Bedford.
As a result of the search warrants, the following items were located and seized at both locations.
Seven pounds of suspected marijuana
$280 seized US currency
A Springfield Armory XDS-9 9mm firearm
Seventeen (17) rounds of 9mm Luger FMJ ammunition
Two 9mm magazines for firearm
Alex Javier Castillo, 28, of Phillips Road, New Bedford was charged with Possess to Distribute Class D, Ammunition without FID Card, Firearm Without FID Card, and Firearm Violation with 3 Prior Violent/Drug Crime.
