Massachusetts COVID-19 positive test rate decreases to 1.0%, 20 more reported dead
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations and positive test rate in Thursday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 365 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Wednesday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate lowered to 1.1%.
Massachusetts had seen 315 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 117,450 with 20 more reported dead for a total of 8,775.
25,340 tests were performed, almost 5,600 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the overall total to 2,246,626. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,649,836.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 82 of the last 108 days as hospitalizations decreased 23 today to see the total lower to 333.

• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 80,709
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 77,940
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,769
According to the CDC, as of August 26th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,799,046 with 178,998 dead.
