Massachusetts sees decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations for third straight day, positive cases and testing rise, 14 more dead
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations for a third straight day in Saturday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 366 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. An increase from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.4%.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 114,095 with 14 more reported dead for a total of 8,596.
Massachusetts had seen 212 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.
22,969 tests were performed, over 1,400 more than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,886,299. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,425,699.
Hospitalizations have decreased in 74 of the last 97 days, and saw a decrease of 23 today to see the total lower to 375.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 74,610
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,773
According to the CDC, as of August 15th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,285,546 with 167,546 dead.
