Fall River COVID-19 cases increase to nine total after additional cases in last 24 hours

The City of Fall River’s Department of Health and Human Services has provided a brief update this morning on Fall River’s confirmed positive COVID-19 cases.

As of Friday, March 27,2020 – Positive COVID- 19 Cases – 4

As of Saturday, March 28, 2020 – Positive COVID-19 Cases – 5 (additional)

There are a total of 9 positive COVID-19 cases as of this morning in the City of Fall River.

Behavioral Health: It is important that residents prioritize their mental health during the COVID-19 outbreak. Residents experiencing anxiety, depression, or need emotional support can call 211 to be connected to behavioral health resources.

Massachusetts 2-1-1 provides residents with real time COVID-19 information. Residents with questions regarding COVID-19 should call 2-1-1.

• Information is available in over 150 languages
• All calls are confidential

Mayor Coogan continues to urge residents to do the following:

Practice social distancing. This means keeping 6 feet between individuals and avoid shaking hands and hugging

Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

Cover your cough and sneezes. Throw tissues away and clean your hands afterwards.

Stay home when you are sick

Avoid contact with individuals who are sick
