Local leaders continue to make closures, cancellations, adjustments due to COVID-19
Leaders from across the area continue to make closures and adjustments due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.
According to Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, Providence Place Mall will close Tuesday until further notice.
Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo has banned all gatherings of 25 people or more.
Governor Raimondo is banning serving in dining rooms beginning Tuesday and until March 30th.
Court leaders have closed the Massachusetts Trial Courts to the public for Monday and Tuesday, March 16 & 17.
The following Fall River City Council meetings have been canceled:
Monday, March 16, 2020 – City Council Committee on Public Works/Transportation Meeting
Tuesday, March 24, 2020 – City Council Committee on Public Safety
Tuesday, March 24, 2020 – Public Hearings, City Council Committee on Finance Meeting and the Regular Meeting of the City Council
All branches of the Fall River Public Library will be closed Monday, March 16th – Saturday, March 21st.
The Fall River Senior Centers will be closed Monday, March 16th – Friday, March 20th.
All RMV and AAA Northeast offices that serve the public will be closed today Monday, 3/16 and Tuesday, 3/17. Scheduled road tests are cancelled on these days also.
All empanelments in jury trials, in both criminal and civil cases, are postponed until no earlier than April 21, 2020.
Many restaurants that are dine-in establishments are choosing to close for the next several weeks and not offering take-out. Check with your local restaurant to see if they offer take-out
The City of Fall River Health Department is currently tracking a limited number of individuals who have either traveled to a high-risk area or are suspected contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case.
