After spending half of his life in boxing, Fall River man scheduled to make pro debut

A Fall River man’s winding road has finally led to a dream he has had since childhood.

Aaron Bernardo isn’t a stranger to boxing, but he is about to embark on a new journey in the sport: becoming a pro.

“I’ve been boxing since I was 12-years-old. My father got me into the sport. I started competing as an amateur when I was 14 and competed in amateur boxing between USA boxing and exhibitions until the age of 23.”

Along Bernardo’s boxing journey, he has been an EMT, a corrections officer at the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, and since last September, a co-owner of Pro Fitness & MMA in Somerset.

The 25-year-old Bernardo has seemed to stay in boxing in some form or another since a young age and is about to take the ultimate step.

“I got thrown into the world of coaching and developed my successful amateur fight team Punishment Striking Systems this year. I just had my last amateur bout and have been motivated to compete again so I figured I’ll live my childhood dream.”

Aaron is not only looking to fulfill his dream, but also hoping to inspire his team.

“I’ll be the first professional fighter for my team of fighters to follow and make the leap to the pro ranks.”

Bernardo will be making his debut against Vermont’s Gary Cameron on June 5th in Windham, New Hampshire at the Castleton.
