Woman found that doesn’t know who she is has been identified
A woman who was found by police and didn’t know who she was has been identified.
According to Pawtucket Police, on January 1, 2020, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Pawtucket Police responded to the corner of Suffolk Avenue and Grand Avenue to check on the well-being of a lost, elderly female. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the female. She was confused and disoriented. She was unable to provide sufficient information to identify herself or determine where she lives. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Missing/ Unidentified elderly woman has been identified as Madeline Alioudor (78) of Brooklyn, NY. Investigation by Detective Craig Letourneau and Sergeant Dan Ashworth (Neighborhood Response Unit), with the assistance of detectives in Brooklyn, NY, led to finding a son who resides in Brooklyn. Detective Letourneau made contact with this son who later confirmed through photographs that the person was in fact his mother. The son reported that the family lost contact with the mother a few years back and had not heard from or seen her.
Madeline’s son was provided the contact information for the hospital and her social worker.

Has a reporter followed up on this story?
This woman does not look as though she’d spent years on the street. If her son has not seen her in several years, where has she been in the interim – does she have a companion? Where did she live?
This story doesn’t add up.
Am SO glad Detective Craig Letourneau and Sergeant Dan Ashworth (Neighborhood Response Unit), and the detectives in Brooklyn, NY found and helped her.
Does NYPD have a Geriatric Response Unit, btw? Providing training to officers in their handling of dementia?
Thanks.

Police are still trying to figure out how she got there and where she came from.
