Southcoast Health welcomes New Year’s babies at St. Luke’s Hospital and Charlton Memorial Hospital

Kyle & Cassie Lapati welcome Paige Lapati, Charlton Memorial Hospital’s first baby of the New Year.

New Bedford, Mass.- The first baby of the New Year born at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford arrived at 2:59 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Samantha Williams of New Bedford, welcomed baby girl, Amelia Robert, weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long. Amelia is Williams’ third child.

Cassie and Kyle Lapati of Smithfield, R.I., gave birth to a daughter, Paige Lapati, at 8:14 a.m., January 1, 2020, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. Paige is born weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and measuring 19 inches long. Paige is the couple’s first child.

Both families received a $100 gift card, a plush toy and baby blanket donated by the Auxiliaries of St. Luke’s Hospital and Charlton Memorial Hospital. The families also received a gift basket donated by the Southcoast YMCA that includes a 1-year family membership, a baby swim class, a onesie, diapers, baby blanket, t-shirts for the parents, and a Y backpack.
