Fall River man arrested for stabbing man in driveway
Fall River Police arrested a city man after a stabbing took place Friday afternoon.
According to Detective John Robinson, a 54-year-old Fall River resident told police he was seated in his car in a Brightman Street driveway when approached by a male who began stabbing at him with a knife.
The resident stated he was able to run away after being stabbed, however, the suspect, Ronald Soares, caught up to him on Murray Street. Soares attempted to stab the victim a second time, but fled on police arrival.
Soares was apprehended in the driveway of an adjoining property and the knife used in the stabbing was recovered, according to Robinson.
The victim told officers he was accused of having relations with Soares’ girlfriend.
The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Soares, 52, of 5 Emerson Street, was charged with A&B Dangerous weapon – Knife, A&B, B&E Vehicle, Assault W/ dangerous Weapon (Knife), and Resisting Arrest.
