Serious fiery crash on I-195 leaves engine detached from vehicle
Police and fire responded to a serious crash Saturday morning on I-195.
According to Marion Fire/EMS, at approximately 3:23 a.m., Fire/EMS E-1, A-2, and C-1 was dispatched to Route I-195 Eastbound for a motor vehicle accident into the woods that was on fire.
Upon arrival, Fire and Police units discovered a vehicle that had rolled over into the wood-line with the driver still inside the vehicle.
The engine block was separated from the vehicle on fire.
Fire and police personnel extricated the driver and extinguished the motor on fire.
The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
