Burned out from cooking (and eating), and ready to drop from too much shopping? Make Saturday, November 25 your day of non-commercial rest and renewal with Fall River’s Public Libraries. Several free, family-friendly programs will be offered at both the Fall River Public Library at 104 North Main Street, and the South Branch Library at 58 Arch Street.

First, bring the kids to the Max & Ruby Film Festival at the Fall River Public Library, 104 North Main Street, at 11 a.m. Join us for several short animated adventures featuring those two lovable bunnies, Max & Ruby, based on the popular picture book series by Rosemary Wells.  Popcorn will be served.

Next, there’s board game fun for all ages with the library’s Chess Club, held from 2:30-4:30 in the library’s meeting room. If you’re already a chess player, join a game. If you’re new to chess, learn to play! Both adults and kids (ages 6 and up) are welcome. For more information, contact the Fall River Library at 508-324-2700, ext. 4.

And finally, the South Branch Library, located at 58 Arch Street near the Children’s Advocacy Center, will host its Saturday Craft Circle from   2-4:30 pm. Bring your crochet or knitting, quilting, weaving, beading, coloring— any small craft that’s easily portable.  All ages are welcome, but you must bring your own craft supplies.  For more information, contact the South Branch Library at 508-324-2708.
