One dead, one critical, in fatal dirtbike crash Wednesday
The Johnston Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a dirt bike and Jeep that occurred at the intersection of Allendale Avenue and George Waterman Road yesterday afternoon.
Upon arrival of Johnston Police and EMS, Michael Viscolosi, 25, of East Providence was observed to be pinned underneath the Jeep and he was pronounced deceased. A second individual, also determined to be riding on the dirtbike at the time of the collision, was transported to RI Hospital. He has been identified as Nicholas Cambio, 24, of North Providence. His condition after surgery yesterday afternoon has been listed as critical.
The operator of the Jeep and her two passengers were not injured as a result of the collison and she is cooperating fully with investigators. Speed has been ruled out as a determinating factor and investigators are still attempting to determine who was operating the dirt bike at the time of the collision.
