Umi’s Japanese Steakhouse re-opening short-lived
It was nice while it lasted, but Umi’s Japanese Steakhouse will once again be closing. This time for good.
Umi’s had re-opened their G.A.R. Highway location after a closure of about a week. Owner Wing Tai came in front of the Board of Selectmen in Swansea to have the establishment’s liquor and entertainment licenses renewed earlier this month. Umi’s re-opened to keep their licenses, but the opening will not last long. When we contacted staff, they stated that the restaurant will be closing for good on December 31st.
Customers have also reported that they are only taking cash for payment.
If you wish to call ahead before making one last trip, Umi’s can be reached at (508) 672-1490.
