Lebanese Pita Pocket has publicly thanked the community after receiving a wave of support following hateful phone calls directed at its Fall River and North Dartmouth locations.
In a post on social media, the restaurant’s family wrote that they were overwhelmed by the response. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!” one post stated. “We honestly don’t have enough words to express how grateful we are for the overwhelming love, support, and kindness we’ve received from this community.”
The family said the countless messages, phone calls, comments, and words of encouragement “have truly touched us.” They added that the support “means more than you could ever imagine and reminds us how fortunate we are to be part of such an amazing community.”
“No matter our differences, kindness, respect, and standing together are what make a community strong,” the messages continued. “To everyone who reached out, showed us love, and stood by our side — THANK YOU! We see you, we appreciate you, and we will never take your kindness for granted. We are proud to be part of this community, and we are even more grateful to have your support.”
The thank-you post followed an earlier statement in which the restaurant said it had received hateful calls at both locations because it is a Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurant that serves halal food. The business described the calls as heartbreaking and noted that its background and the food it serves “should never be a reason for anyone to receive hate or discrimination.”
Lebanese Pita Pocket operates at 275 Martine Street in Fall River and 519 State Road in North Dartmouth. The Dartmouth location has been in operation for decades, with the Fall River spot opening as an expansion in 2025. The restaurant is known for Lebanese dishes including shawarma, falafel, hummus, and mixed grill plates.
