Services announced for Fall River teen killed in stabbing, suspect still held without bail

Services have been announced for a Fall River teen and UMass Dartmouth football player killed in a reported stabbing.

According to an obituary, 18-year-old Marvins Antoine was a strong, generous, young man who brought laughter and warmth to the people around him. He was excited to start at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and play running back for the Corsairs. Above all, he was devoted to his family, especially his mother, and hoped to build a better life for them. He showed his love through loyalty, courage, and a willingness to help others.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a public visitation on Thursday, October 8, 2026, 06:00 PM – 08:00 PM at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, inside The Marketplace. Parking will be available in Lot 5. UMass Dartmouth faculty and Southcoast Funeral Homes staff will be available on-site to assist guests with parking and provide guidance upon arrival.

A Funeral Service celebrating Marvins’ life will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM at New Jerusalem Evangelical Baptist Church, 871 North Main Street, Randolph, Massachusetts. All are welcome to attend and may meet directly at the church for the 9:00 AM service.

Following the service, Marvins will be laid to rest at Central Cemetery, 327 North Street, Randolph, Massachusetts.

The suspect in Antoine’s death, Chukuwnonso Uzoma-Eze is currently being held after pleading not guilty in New Bedford District Court to a fugitive from justice charge and in Rhode Island for the murder charge. An ICE detainer has also been filed for Uzoma-Eze.

A GoFundMe created for funeral and related expenses has raised more than $30,000 as of this writing.
