Yesterday, Fall River City Councilor Linda Pereira skipped a scheduled Committee on Health and Environmental Affairs to attend a State Rep. Carole Fiola fundraiser at Pier 52.
Pereira informed the City Council Clerk that she would be missing the scheduled meeting to attend a Carole Fiola event. Fall River Reporter has learned that the event was a fundraiser for Carole Fiola who is seeking re-election on November 3.
We talked to Councilor Michael Canuel who leads the committee and he stated that if he knew she couldn’t attend, he would have scheduled the meeting for another day, but she confirmed she would attend when the meeting was scheduled.
The meeting’s agenda took on blighted properties and several City employees attended to include FRPD Chief J. T, Hoar, the Director of Inspectional Services, City Administrator Anne O’Neil-Sousa to address “the progress of cleanliness, maintenance and enforcement through the Cit of Fall River.
