Fall River Police responded after a vehicle crashed into a home causing multiple people to be injured.
According to the department, on Thursday, at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of the Patrol Bureau responded to a motor vehicle crash on Brightman Street, where a motor vehicle had struck a residence.
Due to the nature of the crash, members of the Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to conduct a further investigation. Investigators located surveillance footage from the area, which showed the vehicle accelerating at a high rate of speed before leaving the travel lane and striking a residence.
The operator and passenger sustained injuries and were transported to a medical facility for evaluation. Both individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The operator was cited for Marked Lanes Violation and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing.
