A Fall River man faced a judge Monday in Fall River Superior Court after a previously reported city shooting and home invasion.
According to police, at approximately 7:00 p.m. on May 22nd, officers responded to a call for a male reportedly in possession of a firearm and attempting to vandalize a motor vehicle. While officers were enroute, dispatch received additional reports indicating that a male had damaged a vehicle using a large rock. The original caller subsequently contacted the police department again, reporting that shots had been fired in their direction. Multiple additional calls were received reporting a disturbance involving arguing and gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located several spent shell casings and observed damage to an apartment door consistent with forced entry. Initial information suggested that the suspect had fled into another apartment. Utilizing the Crisis Negotiation Team and Emergency Services Unit, in coordination with the Major Case Division and Patrol Bureau, officers determined that the suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Through witness statements and investigative efforts, officers identified the suspect as 49-year-old Kysim Noble.
Detectives from the Major Case Division obtained a search warrant for Noble’s residence on Osborn Street in Fall River. At approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Emergency Services Unit, Major Case Division, and Patrol Bureau executed the warrant. Noble was located inside the residence and was observed wearing clothing consistent with the description provided by witnesses at the scene. He was taken into custody without incident.
Noble was charged with the following offenses:
• Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling
• Armed Assault in a Dwelling
• Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle
• Discharging a Firearm Causing Damage to a Building
• Assault and Battery with Attempt with a Firearm
• Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Building
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Firearm Violation with Two Prior Violent/Drug Crimes
• Carrying a Firearm Without a License (Second Offense)
• Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License
• Armed Assault with Intent to Murder
• Home Invasion
At a previous arraignment in Fall River District Court, Noble pled not guilty and was held without bail.
Court records show that on Monday, Noble pled not guilty in Fall River Superior Court after being indicted on Home Invasion, Armed Assault in a Dwelling, Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle, Assault and Battery with Attempt with a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, and Carrying a Firearm Without a License (Third Offense) charges.
He was held without bail and has a pretrial conference scheduled for November 5th.
