Fall River Police responded to a weekend incident that resulted in injuries.

A call came into dispatch just before noon on Sunday for a report of a man chasing another man with a knife and stabbing him in the area of Fifth and Hartwell Streets.

According to Acting Chief J.T. Hoar, the incident appears to be more of a slashing than a stabbing and a box cutter was involved, not a knife.

The victim has non-life-threatening injuries to the head and shoulder.

Hoar stated that the investigation is open and ongoing.
