Another big Massachusetts State Lottery winner choosing to be smart after claiming $1 million scratch ticket prize

Big Massachusetts State Lottery winners of late are being smart with their winnings as was the case here.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Anu Nadkarni of Westborough is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Lion’s Share” $10 instant ticket game.

She chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Nadkarni plans to save and invest the winnings, something that has been a trend as of late among recent winners.

She purchased her winning ticket at Shell, 27 East Main St. in Westborough. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

The “$4,000,000 Lion’s Share” game includes one more prize of $1 million that has yet to be claimed.
