Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced that a 38-year-old man was convicted this afternoon after a jury trial in the Fall River Superior Court of First-Degree Murder, Carrying a Firearm and Carrying a Loaded Firearm.

Adam Walker, of East Providence, RI, was sentenced by the Honorable Thomas Perrino to life without the possibility of parole along with a concurrent sentence of 3-5 years on the firearms offenses. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Patrick Driscoll and Daniel Walsh.

The evidence at trial established that on the afternoon of May 26, 2021, 38-year-old Peter Schifone was shot one time in the abdomen and killed at the threshold of his apartment at 64 High Street in North Attleboro.  Evidence established that the victim had been in communication with the defendant earlier in the day and met with him for a period of time.  Prior to the murder, surveillance evidence showed Walker’s motor vehicle leave the high street residence and drive away.  Video surveillance also showed that the defendant returned to the High Street address a short time later on foot.  Approximately 9 minutes after Walker arrived at High Street on foot, video shows him running from the residence, which is contemporaneous to when the 911 call was placed reporting the victim had been shot.  The firearm used in the murder was located and recovered by police in a wooded area in East Providence, RI.  Data recovered from Walker’s cell phone placed him in that same area where the firearm was located a few hours after the murder.

“I am pleased that the jury held the defendant accountable for this senseless premeditated murder.  This case went through a lengthy court process. I am pleased that the verdict will provide the family some consolation for the loss of their loved one,” District Attorney Tom Quinn said.
