RAYNHAM — The Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded Friday night to a serious crash involving a motorcycle.

According to both departments, on Friday, at just before 9:45 p.m., the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to a 911 call reporting that a motorcycle and an SUV were involved in a crash at the intersection of South Street East and Hill Street.

A preliminary investigation has determined that a 2010 Ford Explorer, operated by a 22-year-old Avon man, collided with a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven straight on South St. East by a 52-year-old New Bedford man.

Raynham Fire responded and requested a medical helicopter for the motorcyclist. Upon the helicopter’s arrival, it was determined the 52-year-old man would be transported by Raynham Rescue, along with flight medics, to Morton Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the MSP’s Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section responded to the scene to assist Raynham Police Detectives with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Raynham Police Department and State Police.
