Former Del’s Lemonade given go ahead to be turned into apartments

The Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals is allowing a project to bring new apartments to the city to move forward.

In April, Jason Duarte, owner of Gonsalves Real Estate Investments LLC c/o Atty Peter Saulino, went in front of the Board requesting a variance waiving setback requirements from 10′ to 5′ and to allow an 8unit 3 story apartment building in a B-L district at 833 North Main Street, the former Del’s Lemonade.

The applicant also was requesting a special permit to waive parking requirements from the required 16 parking spots to 10.

The matter was later tabled to Thursday’s meeting to update the plan to decrease the number of units.

Facing the Board again on Thursday, Saulino and Duarte modified the number of units from 8 to 6 and added parking spots under the building resulting in the parking waiver no longer being necessary.

The changes were applauded by the Board leading to the request being granted.
