According to the National Weather Service, patchy black ice is possible.
With rain and snow ending this evening and temperatures cooling below freezing overnight, there is a chance that some untreated roads and walkways will become icy across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and much of Connecticut.
Motorists are urged to use caution and allow a bit of extra travel time and space between vehicles when driving this evening and overnight.
There is also a risk for localized snow squalls late Wednesday and Wednesday night. Brief accumulations and low visibility are possible.
