Children of Massachusetts father rejoice after $1 million State Lottery scratch ticket win

The children of a Massachusetts father must be pretty happy after he announced where he is spending his newfound fortune.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Robert Peatie of Edgartown has won a $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks” $20 instant ticket game.

Peatie chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He plans on helping his children with the winnings.    

He purchased his winning ticket at Woodland Variety & Grill, 455 State Rd. in Vineyard Haven. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$10,000,000 Lucky Bucks has one $10,000,000 and one $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
