Massachusetts DOT announces road repairs to close lanes on stretch of I-195 for 7+ months

SWANSEA/SOMERSET – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing road repairs on I-195 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 4.22 to 11.0 in Swansea and Somerset.

The work is scheduled to take place nightly Sunday to Friday morning, beginning on Monday, April 6th, through Thursday, November 26th, between 8:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. the following morning. Work is anticipated to be completed by Friday morning, November 27th.

Lane closures on I-195 eastbound and westbound will be in place. Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.

Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.    

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.    

All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
