Fall River basketball coach charged with raping a child and possession of child porn
A Fall River basketball coach has been charged with raping a child and possession of child porn.
According to WPRI 12 and Fall River Police, Brandon Rivera, 37, was arrested in May on charges of aggravated rape of child, assault and battery and possession of child pornography. Rivera is a former Fall River Basketball coach for the Northeast Elite AAU basketball team .
Rivera was allegedly dismissed earlier this year for “personal reasons.”
Court records show Rivera pleaded not guilty in July of this year and was held without bail. Court documents show he’s requested a hearing to change his plea.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, his next scheduled court date is December 6th in Superior Court.
