Bristol County head-on crash involving pupil transport van leaves one dead, another injured

A Bristol County multi-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning has left one dead and another injured.

According to Philip Adams, Deputy Chief of Police, at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Easton Police Officers responded to a serious motor vehicle crash at 99 Belmont Street (Rt. 123) in the town of Easton. 

Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles involved in a head on collision. One vehicle was a pupil transport van, and the second vehicle was a four-door sedan. Both vehicles were occupied solely by their operators.

The operator of the transport van suffered minor injuries and was transported to Boston Medical Center – South. The operator of the sedan, a 66-year-old female resident of Easton, was transported to Boston Medical Center – South where she was pronounced deceased. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her family. 

Belmont Steet remained closed for several hours while an on-scene investigation was conducted.

The incident remains under investigation by the Easton Police Detective Division, the Massachusetts State Police, and the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
