Seasonal Fall River bar, entertainment, event space, expected to open in May
A new Fall River spot is taking the next step to open for business later this year.
In June, Kara O’Connell, with Atty Jeffrey Medeiros, was granted a Special Permit by the Zoning Board of Appeals to operate a seasonal bar, entertainment, and event space serving alcohol and providing food via food trucks and licensed vendors at 180 River Street.
The proposed uses are additional to the existing O’ Connell commercial boat yard/ storage facility that is currently on the property.
According to an announcement, Danny’s Dockside, Inc. has filed an application to obtain an All Alcohol Common Victuallers Seasonal License for the site.
It will be a 6,000 sq ft outdoor area along the Taunton River, designated by concrete barriers with one entrance and exit. The bar will be a manufactured storage container. The liquor storage will be in locked storage containers. Seating will consist of picnic tables, high top seating and Adirondack chairs with capacity of 150 people. The restroom will consist of a specifically designed trailer.
A hearing will be held on the application in front of the Licensing Board on Wednesday, January 21st at 5:00 p.m. in the First Floor Hearing Room of One Government Center. Written objections will be received at the time of the hearing.
The establishment is expected to operate 7 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from May 15th to October 31st.
