Westport, Somerset Police arrest local man on two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child

Authorities say that a local man is facing a disturbing charge.

According to police, on Friday, December 5th, Westport Police Detectives, with the assistance of the Somerset Police Department, arrested John Vasconcellos of Westport.

The investigation, conducted by Westport detectives, resulted in the following charges against Vasconcellos:

Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14 (two counts)

Vasconcellos was ordered held by the Clerk Magistrate on $10,000 bail and was unable to post bail and was subsequently transported to the Bristol County House of Correction – Ash Street Jail.

He was arraigned at the Fall River Justice Center.
